WHAT IS DRIVE 2 THRIVE™?
Drive 2 Thrive™ is a national Adelphi initiative designed to make learning to drive more accessible for care-experienced young people and adults across the UK.
Delivered through our partnerships with National Intensive and Book Instructor, the initiative provides access to discounted driving lesson options, helping to reduce one of the financial barriers that can come with learning to drive.
For many people, driving isn’t simply about getting from A to B.
It can mean greater access to employment, education, training, family, opportunities and everyday independence.
WHO IS IT FOR?
Drive 2 Thrive™ is for care-experienced people aged 16+ across the UK, with no upper age limit.
That includes people who:
Are currently supported by leaving care services
Have a Personal Advisor
Are accessing support through a Local Authority
Are no longer connected to statutory services
Are over 25
May have left care many years ago
Because care experience doesn’t expire at 25, and neither should access to opportunity.
WHY THIS MATTERS
Learning to drive can be expensive, particularly when the cost of lessons sits alongside the other financial pressures that can come with moving into and navigating adulthood.
For care-experienced people, this can also sit alongside gaps in some of the support, resources and informal networks that others may take for granted.
Being unable to drive can affect:
Access to employment opportunities
Education and training
Travel in areas with limited public transport
Everyday independence and choice
Access to wider opportunities
Drive 2 Thrive™ was created to help reduce that barrier.
Not because driving is the right choice for everyone, but because cost shouldn’t be the reason someone is unable to explore it.
THE DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE
Drive 2 Thrive™ currently provides access to discounted options through two delivery partners.
The providers operate differently, so the discount and payment process will depend on which option you choose.

Through Drive 2 Thrive™, care-experienced learners can access 35% off the deposit when booking driving lessons through Book Instructor.
Book Instructor offers flexible driving lesson options for a range of experience levels, from complete beginners through to people who have driven or taken lessons previously.
Lesson options vary depending on your existing experience, confidence and requirements, helping you explore an option suited to where you are in your driving journey.

The Drive 2 Thrive™ discount code is not published publicly. Please follow the relevant access route below before booking if you wish to use the initiative.

Through Drive 2 Thrive™, care-experienced learners can also access discounted intensive driving options with National Intensive.
National Intensive allows customers to choose how much they would like to pay online, from a minimum payment of £350 through to the full course amount.
Through Drive 2 Thrive™:
Save 15% on the amount you pay online or Save 20% when you pay for your course in full upfront
For example, if you choose to make the minimum £350 payment, the 15% discount will apply to that £350 payment rather than the full course cost.
If you choose to pay the full course amount upfront, the total discount increases to 20%.
This gives you flexibility over how much you pay at the point of booking while still accessing a Drive 2 Thrive™ saving.

HOW TO ACCESS DRIVE 2 THRIVE™
There are different ways to access Drive 2 Thrive™ depending on whether you are currently supported by a Local Authority or accessing the initiative independently.

Many Local Authorities already provide support towards learning to drive through their Local Offer.
If you have a Personal Advisor or are currently supported by a Local Authority, we recommend speaking to them first to find out what support may already be available to you.
Local Authorities working with Adelphi can access Drive 2 Thrive™ information and the relevant discount process to support eligible care-experienced people.
This can allow existing Local Authority driving support to go further.

We know care experience doesn’t end when formal support does.
If you are not currently supported by a Local Authority or Personal Advisor, you can still contact the providers to access the benefits.
Please note: You may be asked to provide evidence of care-experienced status as part of the eligibility process.
This helps us protect the discounts from misuse while keeping the initiative accessible to care-experienced people who may no longer be connected to services.
This information is processed securely in line with the provider’s privacy policy and is only used for the booking process.

Drive 2 Thrive™ is an Adelphi initiative delivered in partnership with independent driving lesson providers.
Adelphi does not provide driving lessons directly and does not manage driving lesson bookings, payments, instructors or learner data.
Bookings and payments are made directly with the relevant provider and are subject to that provider’s own availability, terms, conditions and booking requirements.
Discounts are subject to the eligibility and access requirements of Drive 2 Thrive™ and the relevant provider.
Provider availability may vary by location.
Drive 2 Thrive™ discount codes are not published publicly to reduce the risk of misuse and help protect the initiative for the care-experienced people it is intended to support.

Drive 2 Thrive™ can complement the driving support already available through your Local Offer.
Where a Local Authority contributes towards driving lessons, access to discounted provision can help that funding go further and potentially increase the number of lessons an individual can access.
