Why Adelphi Exists
Most care-experienced young people don’t want to be seen as different to their peers. Like anyone else, they want the confidence, skills and opportunities to move forward on equal footing.
Yet the transition into adulthood can come with gaps that others rarely see. In England alone, over 80,000 children are in care, and thousands more leave the care system each year expected to navigate housing, finances, employment and wellbeing earlier than many of their peers.
Practical knowledge, everyday guidance and consistent support can be difficult to access when systems change or when young people are suddenly expected to manage independence alone without the typical safety nets that many rely on throughout their lives.
Adelphi exists to help bridge those gaps — bringing together practical guidance shaped by lived experience of the care system, community, partnerships and professional expertise to support the care-experienced community while strengthening the systems around them.
Because independence should come with confidence, skills and the belief that the future is yours to shape - regardless of previous circumstance.
THE ADELPHI ECOSYSTEM
Adelphi is a lived-experience-led ecosystem supporting care-experienced young people across the UK while working with organisations to strengthen support, expand opportunity and enhance the systems around them.
Through practical solutions, partnerships and collaboration across sectors- Adelphi works to bridge the gap between statutory services and independence, supporting young people to move forward with confidence.

The Adulting Together platform provides practical guidance, tools. signposting and lived-experience insight to support care-experienced young people navigating independence across the UK.
